Alma was rescued from the slaughterhouse by an organic farmer. Due to her advanced age, she did not become pregnant and was no longer of any use, so she was destined to go to the slaughterhouse. But fate had other plans. Alma became a nurse cow for a small Dahomey cow that would not have survived the winter without Alma's help. Alma was mated to the organic farmer's Dahomey bull and the result was Emil. For legal reasons, the organic farmer is not allowed to keep animals from conventional husbandry on a long-term basis. So the request came to Aiderbichl: and here they are now: Alma and her son Emil.
