Chicken Antonia
Laying-hen
Antonia is one of the young laying hens that have been put out to pasture. Every year, we take in young hens whose laying performance is declining. It is important to consider in good time what should happen to laying hens at the end of their laying period. Killing and disposing of them via the rendering plant (TKV) is certainly not legal. What to do with the disused laying hens? When laying hens are put out of production at around 17 months of age due to declining laying performance, the question arises for hen keepers: what to do with the birds? This question should already be considered when purchasing the pullets. Antonia is 14 months old - we wish her a happy life at Gut Aiderbichl Deggendorf.
