The fact that the well-behaved mare Bella is still alive today is thanks to the police and animal welfare activists who stopped a slaughter transport in Lower Austria. The condition of the 21 horses in the truck was devastating and heartbreaking. Michal Aufhauser and Dieter Ehrengruber made their way to the scene because they were determined to help the horses.
