Yellow-cheeked cockatoos get their name from the small yellow ear spots that are characteristic of this cockatoo species. They are highly endangered, as are the other 350 species of parrot that are already on the Red List. Unfortunately, more and more people want a certain exoticism in their own homes and often resort to parrots. These are often wild-caught birds that end up in living rooms and it is not uncommon for the proud parrot parents not to have informed themselves at all about the conditions under which the animals are kept. And people often want to get rid of them quickly. But what to do with parrots that nobody wants anymore? A sanctuary took care of these animals, but when this was also on the verge of closing due to the age of the owners and the extensive care required, Michael Aufhauser agreed to take in these wonderful animals on behalf of all Aiderbichlers. Coco is now an Aiderbichler and can stay with us forever!
