They stood there magnificently when the Gut Aiderbichl team arrived on site. Aurochs as we knew them from cave paintings, proud and wild. But the aurochs as they stood before us were a back-bred breed, created during the turmoil of the Second World War, as the original form had already died out around 1627. But no less impressive, you have to admit. On this rainy day, 17 representatives of this wonderful breed became Aiderbichlers. But why? The animal owner wanted to have them slaughtered, but he hadn't reckoned with the deputy mayor, who stood up for the animals. Michael Aufhauser didn't hesitate for a second and agreed to take them in. Their lives could be saved and we were given the opportunity to give this rare and wonderful breed a voice. Eva also came under the protection of Gut Aiderbichl.
