Fussl the cow calf was born on a small organic farm in Salzburg. She was so small that the farmer could carry her in his arms. When Fussl was born, and it was clear that she would have no future on the farm as a Charolais cow, the farmer's daughter tried for days to persuade her parents to keep Fussl. Anna's persistence won out and Fussl was allowed to stay. After an adventurous trip to the mountain pasture, Fussl had to be nursed back home to health. It was agreed with her parents that when Fussl had her first calf, she would have to "leave" herself, because as a beef cow she does not give much milk and keeping her would have been too expensive. When the time came, the daughter just couldn't help herself - once again she fought for her Fussl and managed to get the good cow of the heart to move to Gut Aiderbichl Henndorf. Here she is now - the Fussl with the big heart story.
