When a social worker from an authority in Vienna approached us and asked for help, we had no idea what was in store for us. Originally, we were asked to take in around 80 budgerigars and cockatiels. An impressive number of animals, which at the time still seemed quite harmless. The Gut Aiderbichl team set off. On site, however, they only really realized the extent of the emergency situation: the owner was completely overwhelmed with the care of her animals and in the end the 80 animals mentioned became 323 animals, which we were able to rescue from the apartment - animal welfare is also human welfare.
