Pig Gusti

In 2017, more than 60 pigs were simply abandoned in Carinthia because the owner was unable to cope. An animal welfare organization became aware of this and was able to catch the pigs and provide them with good housing. However, many of the sows were pregnant and some of the piglets were born with disabilities. An animal lover contacted Gut Aiderbichl and asked for help for a pig that was particularly close to her heart. When Markus Leitner, estate manager of Gut Aiderbichl Carinthia, arrived on site, he did not want to take a single pig with him and asked to be allowed to pack Gusti as well. Fortunately, this was not a problem and so Gusti became an Aiderbichler too!
