One spring day in 2011, the unthinkable happened: a man stormed a government office, shot another man and took a hostage. He grabbed the phone and dialed a number. Gut Aiderbichl was on the other end. The man immediately demanded to speak to Michael Aufhauser. It was about his 14 horses that Gut Aiderbichl was to take in. Over the next six hours, the man talked about himself and his life - including the why. "I'm waiting," were his last words to Michael Aufhauser before he turned himself in. The hostage was rescued thanks to the officers. And we kept our promise: the 14 horses can now spend the rest of their lives at Gut Aiderbichl.
