She was snatched from her family and mother in the wild and was sent to an animal experiment in 1986. From then on, she lived in isolation in a cage. In 1995, she was force-fed to a male and gave birth to Alfred in 1996 as a captive in the experimental laboratory. When Alfred died in 2012, the whole group mourned for weeks. Helene has a long-standing friendship with Bonnie. When it comes to Moritz, Helene likes to be reserved and provokes him by ignoring him, which often infuriates Moritz. Helene is the highest-ranking female in the group. She has had to learn to deal with the imposing behavior of the males. She likes to dig up the bamboo sticks in the outdoor enclosures and bring them into the living area. She loves celery more than anything and loudly demands bananas for herself when she sees that the males are also getting some.
