Horse Kathi

Kathi's story has already given many people food for thought and moved many to tears. Michael Aufhauser bought the foal 53 at a horse slaughter market. She was already on a transporter and was to be taken to Italy. We were able to prevent this and so we brought the little foal to Gut Aiderbichl. Everything seemed fine, but she didn't want to eat. It became clear that she missed her mother Mariandl so much that she wanted to die rather than eat. Her condition worsened and so we decided to look for her mother and reunite the two of them. On the day of the reunion, there was fog over Henndorf and many visitors witnessed the reunion. Obviously they both sensed each other's presence before they could even see each other! Mother Mariandl was already pregnant again and then gave birth to Mariandl II at Gut Aiderbichl.
