Luca and other donkeys were on a site in Italy and were due to be slaughtered. An animal welfare organization stepped in and wanted to rescue the donkeys from this unfortunate situation and save them from death. Gut Aiderbichl agreed to take in donkeys too and the handsome Luca is one of them. He spends his life on the Ballermann Ranch in Germany.
