The South German Coldblood originated in the Alpine region. It is assumed that this breed began in Roman times. This breed was further bred and "refined" in Bavaria. But for Martin, this venerable history of his breed probably played no role. He was offered for sale at the horse market in Rottach-Egern. As the breeding criteria are very strict, probably only a cattle dealer would have been interested in him. Thanks to Michael Aufhauser, he became an Aiderbichler!
