When you see Neila and her friend Nala running and playing like this, you could almost ask yourself why these fit and healthy horses are at a sanctuary? They still have their whole lives ahead of them. The reason is very simple - she was simply not beautiful enough and if an Aiderbichler had not stood up for the two foals and their lives, they would probably have found themselves on a transport to Italy for slaughter. Many foals embark on this terrible journey only to find their way back to our latitudes as salami.
