Horse Simon

The strict breeding statutes for Haflingers claim an infinite number of victims: often their rejection is only due to the blaze or the color. Over 90% of Haflinger colts end up at the slaughterhouse. This was also Simon's destiny. Bravely and nervously, he climbed onto the ramp of an Italian death truck for horses, where he slipped on the ramp and injured himself. The truck driver refused to take him along and so he was returned to the commercial stable. There an Aiderbichler woman discovered him. We bought him, but he still didn't really want to be happy. When we found out where his mother lived, we bought her free and gave her back to little Simon. Now they are two of the happiest horses on the pastures of Gut Aiderbichl.
