Stefanie is a born Aiderbichler. She was born under the care of Gut Aiderbichl. But things almost turned out differently. Her mother's owner wanted to give up the entire herd and have them slaughtered. But the deputy mayor would not allow this and asked us for help. When Michael Aufhauser heard which cattle were involved, he immediately agreed to bring the animals to Gut Aiderbichl Kilb. Among them was Herta. But what was so special about these cattle? They were so-called aurochs, which are considered to be the origin of 500 known cattle breeds. Unfortunately, all aurochs were back-bred during the turmoil of the Second World War. The wild form unfortunately died out around 1627, but today's aurochs are very close to the wild form. In order to preserve these animals, we give them a voice and try to tell their story to a broad public.
