The beautiful gray mare Steffi needed a lot of time before she could gain confidence. We gave her time, of course, because what she had to go through was terrible. In October 2007, the slaughter transport she was on was stopped by animal rights activists and the police. Gut Aiderbichl was asked for help and Michael Aufhauser agreed to take in all 21 horses. Thanks to the help of the animal rights activists and an animal-loving couple who were on site at the time, the purchase price could be collected and the animals bought free.
