Stern is a born Aiderbichler. His mother not only fought for her own life, but also for the life of her unborn son when she took her chance to escape. Many Swiss people contacted Gut Aiderbichl after the story became public and asked for the poor cow to be taken in - because it was becoming increasingly likely that she would be shot. Hans Wintersteller, an employee of Gut Aiderbichl, set off and after a few days was able to catch the cow and bring her to safety. Once all the papers and vaccinations had been completed, Sächtli was allowed to move and give birth to her son Stern a few weeks later.
