Our camels
Why are there camels at Gut Aiderbichl?
Both camels and dromedaries find a loving home at Gut Aiderbichl. When we talk about ‘camels’, we often mean Bactrian camels. They have two humps and originally come from Asia, which is why they are also called two-humped camels. Dromedaries, on the other hand, only have one hump and are mainly found in Africa. They are also known as one-humped camels.
Many of our camels and dromedaries come from camel farms. Unfortunately, some of them had to be taken away by the veterinary office due to poor husbandry. Others lost their home due to a stable fire or were former circus animals looking for a new home. They have now found a safe and species-appropriate home at Gut Aiderbichl.
