Our foxes

Why are there foxes at Gut Aiderbichl?

Many foxes are still dying for human luxury. Although more and more manufacturers are doing without fur in their collections, and the breeding of foxes on fur farms is already banned in many European countries, such farms still exist. In 2015, we were able to buy some silver foxes from one such farm. One of the rescued foxes was pregnant and we are now able to care for her offspring at Gut Aiderbichl.
Many of our red foxes came to us as injured orphans. They were hand-reared and nursed back to health. As these foxes are used to humans from an early age, it is no longer possible to release them back into the wild. At Gut Aiderbichl, however, they find a safe home where they can lead a species-appropriate and peaceful fox life.
