Our goats

Why are there goats at Gut Aiderbichl?

Many of the goats at Gut Aiderbichl come from poor husbandry or have been neglected. Some have only narrowly escaped slaughter. Male animals in particular are often of no use in breeding and therefore have a short life expectancy. Fortunately, there are animal-loving people who look instead of looking away and draw our attention to such cases.

Some goats come to Gut Aiderbichl already pregnant. In some cases this is the reason for their surrender, but sometimes it is an unexpected surprise. This is how some of our goats were born at Gut Aiderbichl.

Sometimes problems also arise from ill-considered decisions – for example, when goats are given as gifts for birthdays, weddings or other occasions. The stories of the animals at Gut Aiderbichl clearly show that animal gifts are rarely a good idea.
