Cat Allison-Ali

If you are looking for me, look for me in your heart. Once I have found a home there, I will always be with you.

The mysterious cat Allison-Ali

Allison-Ali was the first cat to be born at Gut Aiderbichl in Traisen in 2013. In 2015, Allison-Ali moved to the large cat living room at Gut Aiderbichl Iffeldorf. Her special story begins with the fate of her abandoned cat mum Samantha.

The new Gut Aiderbichl Traisen in Lower Austria had barely opened in 2013 when the first cats were taken in. Suddenly there was a box of abandoned cats, including a pregnant one, on the doorstep of an animal lover. As the animal lover was already caring for many rescued animals herself, she was unable to take in the heavily pregnant Samantha and asked Gut Aiderbichl for help. So Samantha gave birth to the kittens Napoleon and Allison-Ali in Traisen.

From the very beginning, the animal sanctuary in Traisen was home to cats that were older and mostly in need of care. After the house in Traisen was once a hotel, there are even single or double rooms for cats as required. The majority of the cats live peacefully with their mates inside the house and enjoy the outdoor enclosure. Now two lively kittens have brought a breath of fresh air into the cat house.

Little Allison-Ali was a particularly shy cat. She never wanted to trust the photographer, who always had a funny thing in his hand. Allison-Ali got on well with the carers. They were full of kindness and were wonderful with individualists like Allison-Ali.

Despite her best efforts, Allison-Ali never became a real confidante to people, and it was often difficult to catch her when vaccinations or other checks were due. Interestingly, in the last few months our Allison-Ali became more approachable and the animal carers also realised that the cat was not completely fit. Hyperthyroidism was diagnosed and the vet started her on medication.
Unfortunately, the animal carers noticed that Allison-Ali’s general condition was deteriorating and she was no longer able to regain her strength. Shocked, the keepers found the 11-year-old cat dead in the outdoor enclosure a few days ago. You could almost believe it: Allison-Ali came as a secret in her mum Samantha’s belly and quietly and secretly, sometime during the night, went over the Rainbow Bridge to her mum Samantha and her little brother Napoleon.

When everyone else leaves, these paws will stay.

Dear Allison-Ali,
Thank you for letting us be there for you for eleven years and for letting us try to become your friends. Sometimes you presented us with challenges – when it came to interpreting your purring or catching you for an examination. If you didn’t want to, then the humans had a break. You always knew exactly what you liked and what you didn’t like. Your eyes and your little cat heart were not open to everyone. Now you are with your mum Samantha and your brother Napoleon, both of whom have also gone far too soon. We wish you the cosiest of sunny places and a liberated life on the other shore of this life. Take care, dear Allison-Ali. You have left your mark on our hearts, we miss you very much.
