Andy and Scheran
Two horses that brought tourists to Neuschwanstein
Sitting in a carriage and being pulled by horses … many tourists must have enjoyed that. Andy and Scheran transported people to Neuschwanstein Castle for several years. They later found accommodation on a farm, where there were also 21 guinea pigs, a dog and some cats. Everything was fine until their owners separated. The animals had to find a new home.
As life goes …
Sometimes animals have to find a new home because the lives of the people they were living with change. Where to put the animals? Countless dogs, cats, ferrets, etc. live on Gut Aiderbichl’s farms, looking for a new home because their human’s path split and neither of them could keep the animals.
A call for help reached Gut Aiderbichl
The two cold-blooded horses Andy and Scheran had to leave their home. Andy was 16 years old and Scheran 19 years old. They were to have a good life after their career as carriage horses. The desperate woman asked us to take them in and also wished that they would not be separated under any circumstances.
This wish was to be fulfilled and the two South German cold-blooded horses moved into one of the seven outlying farms in Henndorf: the Köllersberger Hof. They now live there in peace and quiet and are looked after and cared for together with many other rescued horses from a wide variety of life situations.
Andy and Scheran have now settled in very well and are happy. Edith, the former farmer whose farm is home to Aiderbichl horses, puts her heart and soul into her work. In previous generations, cattle lived in the stables and, for some years now, rescued horses from Gut Aiderbichl. She is familiar with the major and minor ailments of “her children”, as she affectionately calls them, and is always in contact with the grooms.
In the morning, the mood in the stables rises when Edith arrives and addresses her charges by name. Heads raise, quiet neighing goes through the stables and everyone knows: “Now it’s time to go out!”. Jacky, the farm dog, accompanies his mistress and the horses out into the meadows. Andy and Scheran have now been at the farm for two months and are enjoying life to the full. May it stay that way.
It is only thanks to your support, dear animal lovers and Aiderbichlers, that we can take in animals like Andy and Scheran and offer them a home until the end of their natural lives. Please continue to support us with a donation or a symbolic sponsorship. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
