Bärli is looking for his forever home
Bärli is longing for a new master or mistress
Bärli is six years old. He is a Tibetan Terrier mix and lived for several years with his owner, who is now over 90 years old. For health reasons, the man had to give Bärli up immediately because he could no longer cope with Bärli’s needs.
Bärli currently has a forever home at Gut Aiderbichl in Carinthia. But he is longing for a human to accompany him.
Bärli - a clown with a mind of his own
He loves to be active – just as the character of the Tibetan Terrier demands. He also has a sense of humour and likes to play the clown. With his playful nature, he will have people wrapped around his paws in no time. This, in turn, calls for a dog owner who doesn’t allow himself to be wrapped too tightly around Bärli’s paws, but also shows him his limits.
Tibetan Terriers, and this is not much different with a Tibetan Terrier mix, have a mind of their own. When given commands, they sometimes switch off and pretend that they can’t hear well.
Despite his stubbornness, Bärli is easy to train and influence positively. He is people-orientated, friendly and has a quick grasp and intelligence. Bärli is an eager learner and is waiting for a good person to guide him through life.
Changes need to be processed
A major change in Bärli’s life was his relinquishment due to his former master’s age and health problems. How can you explain to an animal that a new home is absolutely necessary?
The new sleeping place, different food, different walking times, etc. – all this made Bärli confused and sceptical at first.
This brings us back to the topic – do animals have feelings? But yes – we observe this every day with all our animals at Gut Aiderbichl. Any private pet owner who keeps a close eye on their animal will confirm that even small changes can cause unrest and problems.
