Bella and Tweety
A large aviary is now the new home
Due to a heart-lung disease of the little daughter, the Agaporniden (lovebirds) - pair, Bella and Tweety, had to be urgently given up on the advice of the treating doctors of the girl. The almost one-year-old girl is allergic to the dust in the feathers of the two parrots.
A visit of the family to Gut Aideribchl Iffeldorf should bring the solution. A large aviary in Iffeldorf has now become the forever home of Bella and Tweety.
"It's really anything but easy for us to have to part with these two..."
The little girl already had to have heart surgery when she was a baby and two more operations are to follow. Sometimes it seems like everything is a disaster, but there is always a solution.
"...there we also saw the aviary with the different parrots, and were absolutely positively enthusiastic overall...". The aviary at Gut Aiderbichl Iffeldorf became the good solution for the peach heads Bella and Tweety. The good solution for the family is that they can visit the birds whenever they want. This way the contact can be maintained, but the thin-skinned health of the little daughter is not affected.
Peachheads are the stars among small parrots
The original home of Bella and Tweety is the region of Tanzania. There, the birds live near Lake Victoria. Peachheads are known for their vibrant green body plumage and red bill. From the beak to the throat area, the gorgeous red swings into a shade of orange with a yellow stripe. The top of the tail is bluish in color. The cock and the hen are visually indistinguishable from each other, but the hen is heavier in weight than the cock. The birds feed on seeds, fruits, berries, etc.
The life expectancy is 16 years. Their character is active and sociable. As a pet they can be observed, but they remain rather shy towards humans. Peachheads do not become as tame as parakeets or parrots, they remain small escapees.
Heartfelt love characterizes the peach heads
The birds lead a strictly monogamous, intimate life together. All day long, the beaks are used for mutual feather care. If one partner dies, a replacement must be found as quickly as possible.
The large aviary in Iffeldorf allows enough movement, there is species-appropriate food, care and great space.
We wish the parents and the little daughter all the best for the upcoming medical procedures. Bella and Tweety will be happy to hear and recognize the familiar voices on the occasion of a visit to Iffeldorf.
