Bull calf Maxl was clever
His best friend was an animal rights activist
Maxl is just under two years old and was born on an organic farm. The farmer was disappointed that he was not a cow calf. Little Maxl didn’t mind at all, and he began to wrap his claws around everyone he met. In the end this should also save Maxl’slife.
From the igloo to the playpen - to the pasture - his fate began at the fence
The first time Maxl spent in the igloo next to the milk room. The place was good in that many people passed by here and the young bull calf enjoyed the many stroking human hands.
Two times a week, an animal-loving young woman collected milk from the organic farmer. Maxl and his future rescuer became close friends. Her heart beats for all animals: Rabbits, hedgehogs, mice, birds, cats and dogs and: Rinder wie Maxl.
Maxl grew older and moved into the loose housing with the other calves. He enjoyed living with his fellow calves, but he didn’t want to miss out on the cuddles from his humans either. His huge eyes with their long eyelashes were always looking for his human friend.
The organic farmer said "... where do I start, where do I stop ...?"
Maxl first came to the pasture, and when he caught a whiff of his human friend, he came straight to the pasture fence and enjoyed being scratched.
Maxl was castrated and sent to the fattening pen. But now it was high timeto do something about it. The farmer himself wanted a place on an animal welfare farm for the special ox. Nobody could find a place for Maxl. Thesolution could perhaps be a place at Gut Aiderbichl.
Maxl operates in the stall of Moosfeldhofsthe light switches
There is not a single stupid animal in this world – cattle are also known for their intelligence. The young Maxland his friend James Bond 007, who came to Moosfeldhof a few months ago, are particularly interested in the light switches in the stable building.
“Maxl has arrived safely. He lives harmoniously and quietly in his cattle group, and one of his best friends has become James Bond 007. Maxl could be an electrician, he loves light switches. With his forehead, cheek or mouth, Maxlswitches the light switches on and off. And he has a blast doing it …” – says Christian Kögl, manager of the Moosfeldhof.
"Maxl is my absolute dream ox ..."
Numerous people “get involved with animals” – and experience how much feeling and kindness animals give to people. These are also the moments when people start to think and then say, for example, “I won’t abandon my friend Maxl”. Maxl’s human friend would certainly not have found peace if she had not been able to help her beloved ox find a forever home.
Maxl’s farmer and his family, as well as the rescuer, are delighted that the young, cuddly ox has found such a great home. The Moosfeld farm is close to the stable where Maxl comes from. Every Saturday, Maxl’s girlfriend comes to Moosfeldhof to visit her animal friend.
The love of animals is honest and innocent. Animals do not judge and idolise us unconditionally.
