Emma the cat is now happy
and their loved ones can be too
Emma willbe two years old in a few months and, despite her young age, already has a lot to tell. She has beautiful tiger markings and wonderful big, dark cat eyes that look curiously into the world.
She was taken in by an animal-loving family from a veterinary clinic. Emma had injuries that would eventually make life in the family a problem.
"It's about our little Emma ..."
Emma was adopted by the family from a veterinary clinic because it was probably not possible for anyone else to care for the cat. At the time, Emma had a broken leg, which was probably the result of a car accident. She had been left on her own with the injury for several days, probably undetected. Later x-rays showed that a torn tail had been overlooked.
Emma was unfortunately also incontinent. Our own cat respected little Emma right from the start, but keeping her in the flat became increasingly difficult because Emma is a little whirlwind and couldn’t run around freely in the flat. She refused nappies, so she had to wait until her humans came home from work to spend time with her cuddly kitten.
The search was on for a place for Emma where all her health problems would not restrict her from leading a good life. But no one was willing or able to take on the little whirlwind.
Emma remains a lovable patient for life
Like all healthy animals, animals with a handicap also have a right to love, care and respect. Since the beginning, Gut Aiderbichl has provided a new forever home for numerous animals that were problematic to keep due to their handicap. This is now also the case for the cuddly, loving but incontinent Emma.
The new forever home has now become Gut Aiderbichl Traisen
“Emma has settled in well with us. She lives in a room with Michl and Arion, but she showed them straight away that she is the boss. In other words, she hissed at the two tomcats, but that soon died down. Now “they” accept each other ….”.
Michl and Arion are good, patient friends and now want to show Emma that cat life in Traisen can be pretty cool. Michl has similar incontinence problems to Emma and understands her problem. Arion came to Traisen from Switzerland a few months ago because he had cat flu and was handed over to Gut Aiderbichl by a worried owner. He is doing well because, according to the animal carers, he has his cat flu “well under control” or rather in his velvet paws.Thank you to all those people who take care of animals with disabilities and help them to get on with their lives. Cats like Emma, their new friends Michl and Arion, appreciate such behaviour of humans very much.
Friends are gardens where you can relax.
