Cat Kiti
and her little lioness Leonia
EggA woman who loves animals took in a stray cat some time ago, which had four kittens in its tummy. Kiti’s rescuer was about to move house, and so she asked Gut Aiderbichl Deggendorf to take in Kitiand her four kittens. So the little cat family came to Gut Aiderbichl Deggendorf around three months ago, and the work could begin.
Worrying diagnosis
Kiti and her kittens were examined by the vet, who unfortunately diagnosed a virus. The situation was difficult, the four little kittens were very weak and on top of that, Kiti was refusing to let the kittens drink. You might think that the natural instinct was switched on, which is: I’m giving you back to nature.
The animal carers fought for the survival of the four kittens, fed them with a pipette and after a short time Kiti let them drink again. Unfortunately, three of the kittens did not survive the fight against the virus. Only one sibling won the fight for life: Leonia, which means “lioness”. In the truest sense of the word, Leonia fought together with the carers for her survival, and she was to win.
Cats have seven lives
As the saying goes. They skilfully avoid the small obstacles that can sometimes end their lives. Humans have always observedthat cats always land on their pawswhen they fall. When a cat falls, it turns during the fall so that its paws land on the ground. Its supple joints cushion the impact. However, if there is not enough time for the body to turn, the cat can also injure itself seriously.
The necessary healing power
after falls or illnesses, the cat carries within itself
Cats like Leonia are survivors. When cats have broken bones or other illnesses, they healtheir purr. How does that happen? The purring spreads a cosy atmosphere, the purring frequency ensures that broken bones and other injuries quicklyhealagain, they say.
The frequency of purring is also transmitted to sick people. When was the last time a purring cat sat on its chest or lay on its stomach? It senses wherethe human is not feeling so well at the momentand lies down there. Is this mysticism or is the cat also a special “human healer”?
Neutering cats prevents a lot of suffering among animals
For several months now, Gut Aiderbichl’s animal emergency centre has been inundated with requests for stray cats and their kittens. Many cats would not have to roam around looking for food and shelter for themselves and their kittens if cat owners took care of neutering them. Many cats would also be in better health if cat owners regularly consulted their vet, could recognise any diseases at an early stage and thusmedical help could save the animals’ lives.

Leonia, the lioness, is supposed to stand in for her deceased siblings. Leonia now lives in a wonderful foster home and is enjoying her young, saved life.
