O'Malley
He lived in the forest and nobody wanted him
O'Malley moved to Gut Aiderbichl Henndorf
He had already been observed for some time and probably lived in the neighbouring forest. A Gut Aiderbichl employee was told by neighbours that there was an unneutered cat running around in the forest that didn’t seem to belong to anyone. Unfortunately, O’Malley was also not chipped and did not seem to be missing anyone.
In terms of age, it is a one to two-year-old red and white male cat. Siblings or the mum cat were nowhere to be seen. Overall, O’Malley seems approachable despite his free life in the forest, he loves to cuddle and occasionally picks up a treat from the carers.
O'Malley reorients himself
O’Malley is currently spending his young feline life in the cat living room in Henndorf. As he had spent some time in the forest, the initial period in the cat living room was not so easy for O’Malley, but the cats who have been living there for some time are currently introducing him to the customs of the Henndorf cat living room.
“O’Malley, don’t be sad. Look, we’re glad you’re here and we’ll help you settle in well. Our Bailey was also found outside Gut Aiderbichl. On a rainy, very cold November day. He really likes it here with us!”.
O’Malley is of course used to the forest. He already really likes the cat enclosure with its fragrant grass, shade and sunbathing areas. We’ve also noticed that he prefers to be in the outdoor enclosure rather than the cat living room.
“Saphira, she’s nice. And Bailey, the red cat. Bailey told me that he was found in the Gut Aiderbichl car park and that he was still a very small cat at the time. When I think about it, I don’t really know how I ended up in the forest. I just caught mice and slept under the trees. At some point, people became aware of me and brought me here. Now I’m at Gut Aiderbichl. OK, that’s good.”
The animal keepers are trying to integrate O’Malley into the cat group. The young cat is still rather reserved and cautious. Since he was given his own hut in the outdoor enclosure of the cat living room, he seems to be blossoming.
“I think that’s great. If it gets “too cramped” for me in the cat living room, the carers have built me a large and another small cat house in the outdoor cat enclosure. When I need peace and quiet and want to be alone, I stay in one of my little houses. Or I can lie down in the grass or under the beautiful butterfly tree and watch the butterflies. That’s quite something. I always have enough food in the bowl or I can catch a mouse in the enclosure. From that point of view, nobody interferes with me. It’s pretty cool to be a cat at Gut Aiderbichl!”.
O’Malley may have wanted to stay with his humans, but it looks like he has been abandoned. He will need some time, but O’Malley will also have a good time together in the cat living room.
