Tomcat Wölfli

the faithful feline soul

A very sad, worried Aiderbichler wrote an e-mail message to the Aiderbichler Animal Emergency Service. She herself repeatedly takes animals from animal welfare organisations into her care. The animal-loving lady currently has two older tomcats and two dogs living with her. The second dog she took in doesn’t particularly like cats. As a result, one of her tomcats “rented” himself out to people in the neighbourhood and Wölfli, the second tomcat, who is now almost 18 years old, is completely stressed by the new living conditions.
Wölfli came to his owner at the age of 5 and has always been a loyal cat. As life often goes, the idyll was disturbed by the arrival of the new dog and Wölfli, with his impressive age, felt stressed and perhaps displaced.

A quiet life in the Teufen cat house

Wölfli’s owner enquired whether she could perhaps get a place for her old, faithful cat at the Aiderbichl cat house in Teufen, Switzerland, because she wanted a quiet, relaxed atmosphere for her Wölfli.
Some time before her enquiry, she had got to know the cat shelters at Gut Aiderbichl Deggendorf and Iffeldorf and thought that her wolf would definitely feel at home there. An animal shelter was out of the question for the lady.
So old Wöfli moved to Teufen in Switzerland and seems to be very happy there. He has also already found a real friend – the black Möhrli, who had come to Teufen from a convent. The sisters had grown fond of Möhrli, but his idyllic life in the convent was also to end abruptly as the nuns became fewer and fewer.
Möhrli was fed and cared for by two nuns shortly before the convent was dissolved, and at some point there was only one sister and Möhrli the cat left in the convent. The sister had to leave the convent and move. But what was to happen to the convent cat Möhrli? Nobody wanted him and, with a heavy heart, they were already thinking of putting him to sleep. Miraculously, this was prevented. The good Lord probably had other plans for Möhrli.

Teufen is fully booked again

Wölfli and his new friend Möhrli live in Teufen in an ideal location surrounded by meadows and without the danger of a road. Every day, tomcat Möhrli shows Wölfli a few new “secrets” in the cat house in Teufen. Since mid-January, Wölfli has been living in his new environment without stress, cared for and well looked after by his friend Möhrli.
Franziska, the manager in Teufen, has two dogs, but whatever it may be – Wölfli and his friend Möhrli walk past the furry friends calmly and serenely.

You’d think Ernest Hemingway was right:

“Cats achieve effortlessly what we humans are denied:
To go through life without making noise.”

Thank you for your support so that we can keep taking in animals in need.
