Dog Mogli
He misses his mum
Mowgli means “wild child”, which reflects the character of the main character from the story “The Jungle Book” very well. This is another reason why pet owners like to use Mowgli for their small, wild, playful four-legged friends.
The white poodle mix Mogli was one of the new arrivals in the first week of January 2022 and has been living in a dog room in Henndorf with his new canine friends ever since.
His owner passed away, leaving behind a deeply saddened Mogli, who was just four years old. From then on, he lived with a neighbour, but the neighbour’s two cats did not get along with Mogli.
Tomorrow everything can be different
Misfortune and death are part of life. If you are the owner of one or more pets, you have taken responsibility for living creatures that are in need of protection. Even before Gut Aiderbichl was founded, Michael Aufhauser thought about the future of animals in the event of an emergency. At some point, when thousands of animals had already found a new home at Gut Aiderbichl, the idea of protection was reawakened. Animals must find a loving home in an emergency and be professionally cared for. That was the basic idea behind the Aiderbichl animal welfare programme.
Gut Aiderbichl Animal Insurance obtains information from the owners about the animals’ habits. The funding provided is used in trust for the quality of life of the animals. The aim of animal insurance is to take in the animals after the owner’s death and treat them as if they were their own. In this way, care follows care – with the warmth of home.
With or without an impairment, any animal can be taken into the animal rescue centre and will be lovingly cared for by our animal carers. Just as we are now doing with Mogli.
Mogli’s new home
Mowgli was very sad and withdrawn at first. His owner was no longer there and now there were all sorts of new people and other dogs. Once again, our dog carers knew what to do. Mogli had to come round psychologically; no treat can banish sadness. A lot of love, patience and time are now helping Mogli to find his activities and enjoy life again.
Outside on the dog trail or on walks with his friends, dog life is cool. Mogli is also really brave – all the donkeys, goats and geese or even pigs don’t cause him any problems or even scare him. However, as soon as he is back in the dog room and resting, there is probably no distraction from the thought that his owner is no longer with him and cuddling him. As with people, you have to allow animals to grieve. This is the only way to let go.
He is now incredibly happy when his animal carers come to feed him, play with him or simply cuddle him. Mowgli doesn’t want to let them go any more. Being close to people is important to him and he enjoys the attention he receives again.
