Dog Rascal

A Worlfsspitz with mega power

From the perspective of an Aiderbichler

(written by Gisela Pschenitschnig)

The owner of five-year-old Wolfspitz Racker had to give up his four-legged companion for health reasons. Unfortunately, his health would no longer allow him to offer Racker what he needs as a Wolfspitz in the long term: Activity.

So he decided to take out animal insurance. This guarantees that Racker will find a forever home at Gut Aiderbichl when his master’s strength declines. A few weeks ago, Aiderbichl employees brought Racker to Gut Aiderbichl in Iffeldorf.

A companion in hectic times - the character of the Wolfsspitz

The nature of the Wolfspitz still gives a hint of the faithful old guard dog. It is an incorruptible guard, loyal, resilient and persevering. The Wolfspitz, or Racker, is neither fearful nor aggressive. He is highly intelligent, curious and spirited.
Racker is alert, lively and exceptionally affectionate towards his humans. He is friendly and also likes to greet strangers. He loves to play with his new dog friends, although he can sometimes be jealous: not everyone is allowed to play with his friends.

Our rascal loves to bark

The Wolfsspitz has a low stimulation threshold when it comes to lashing out. If Racker is bored, if he wants to be challenged, he will lash out. This means that the animal carers should always have a plan for activities ready – otherwise Racker will turn on. But then, after a walk or playing in the meadow, everything is fine again.
Walking for Racker means being able to go for long, long walks. His excitement and anticipation are so great that he starts to bark loudly if the lead takes too long. Racker then thunders off really loudly and complains. He is also a real water dog and no puddle is safe from him. Racker has also already discovered the big lake and you would think that he loves the wet element more than anything.

Racker wants to please and join his new humans. If the emotional relationship is right, it is known that the Wolfsspitz will certainly endeavour not to do anything that his human does not want him to do – and will refrain from barking, for example. After walks, Racker radiates calm and is a friendly, loving member of the dog family at Gut Aiderbichl in Iffeldorf.

However, we have noticed that the Aiderbichl donkeys do not particularly please him, and his enthusiasm towards them is limited.

Animal insurance

Michael Aufhauser thought about what would happen to his animals “if the worst came to the worst”. This is how the idea of animal insurance came about. If a person has an animal as part of their family, it is responsible and respectful to consider where the dog, cat, horse, etc. will continue its life if you no longer have the strength to do so yourself.

Trauert Racker um sein Herrchen? Racker’s surroundings, the familiar daily routine and the caressing hands have changed. But Racker is also increasingly realising that life as a dog at Gut Aiderbichl is a beautiful and loving one. And he eventually gets to grips with the donkeys.

When you fall in love with a dog, you enter a new orbit in many ways, a universe in which there are not only new colours, but also new rituals, new rules and a new kind of bond.

~ Caroline Knapp

He will never forget his master, he has him firmly locked away in his heart.

Yours sincerely, Gisela
