Mice Max, Moritz, Peter, Karl and Heinz
Due to allergic reactions to animal hair and hay, five color mice had to leave the recently occupied home.
The owner and his daughter experienced allergic reactions such as sniffles, coughing, eye tearing, etc. An allergy test confirmed allergic reactions to animal hair and hay.
Color mice and their history
The color mouse is found in Europe, North Africa and Asia. The small mice with the long tail live up to 4 years. Males are about 12 cm long including the tail and females about 10 cm.
Sexual maturity begins from the 4th week of life, there are up to 12 litters per year. The funny little mice are available in about 20 different colors and coat patterns.
The color mouse needs a clan and employment
In the wild, color mice live in large families, i.e. a male and his female, and the young. Each extended family has its own territory, which is marked with scent marks and also defended.
In private keeping, at least two mice of the same sex must be kept. Each litter means between four and 12 young.
The color mouse descends from the gray-brown house mouse, and also has the same behavior patterns. They are uncomplicated in keeping. The cage must be as large as possible, and should have narrow bars, so that the little mice can not escape. For the equipment you need cottages, ladders and climbing equipment for variety in "sports".
For food color mice love grains, dandelions, cucumbers, carrots and fruit. For dental care, the small rodents need non-toxic twigs or rodent woods. Now and then you should spoil them with mealworms, yogurt or boiled egg. Fresh water must always be available.
Unlike rats, the little color mice are happy to cuddle with their humans. If they get out, you just need a lot of patience and calm to bring the little friends back into the cage.
Max, Moritz, Peter, Karl and Heinz
Max and Moritz have a white-brown spotted fur, while Peter, Karl and Heinz are black and white spotted. All together they are very nimble and funny on the go - there is no sadness, field mice provide a good mood.
Their owners brought the 5 little friends in a large cage with all kinds of climbing bars, ropes, tubes, wooden shelters etc. In small coconut shells, which are probably the sleeping quarters, the little mice retreat. The day begins with "Fit mach mit" in the running wheel.
What is nice: the former owners visit Max, Moritz, Peter, Karl and Heinz, too. However, we then have to provide fresh air, because respiratory problems with father and daughter are about to arise again.
Animals are the best of friends. They do not ask questions and do not criticize.
