In search of a home suitable for donkeys

Donkeys are gentle, intelligent, strong demanding characters, they mirror human behavior in dealing with stress, resistance, pressure, etc. - they are our mirror, maybe that's why I love them so much?
Vroni has been living for a year with a young woman who gives animals from animal welfare a home on a leased farm. Now a baby is coming, and the woman has to reduce her animal population. The request to take Vroni in came to Gut Aiderbichl and for a few weeks now she has been living at Gut Aiderbichl Deggendorf.
Vroni no one wanted
"... I have already tried several private ads in Facebook, but no one has come forward ...". Now Vroni has found a new forever home. Her way here was a long one after all.
For 13 years Vroni spent her life lonely and alone on a forest property of a very elderly lady, before she came to the small yard of the new owner.
Vroni is described to us as somewhat problematic: haltering is only possible in the box with no possibility of escape, she is not angry, but she backs away when the space allows it. With two other donkeys, which also live on the farm, there were no difficulties.
Donkeys are sociable and empathic companions for thousands of years
In principle, the donkey is a sociable and good-natured animal that wants to make friends. A donkey is not made to live alone. Then he does it like Vroni. He withdraws. The donkey is very resilient and, unlike the horse, does not show pain, fear, stress or illness. He is also cuddly, loyal and intelligent.
Already the Egyptians appreciated the donkey as a companion. In Roman mythology, the donkey appears as a symbol of fertility. The most important task of the donkey was probably, as the story goes, to carry Jesus on his back to Jerusalem on Palm Sunday. In this religious context, the donkey represents the humble, the weak and the non-belligerent.
Vroni recently wants to greet and waits for strokes
Vroni slowly starts to nudge the keepers when they come with food. Nudging means - "nice that you are here, I enjoy your closeness...", Vroni also starts to sniff her humans, she is interested and attentive.
The shy Vroni is becoming more and more a loving and cuddly donkey. Soon the keepers will make the first attempt to socialize Vroni with the other donkeys at Gut Aiderbichl Deggendorf, I think it will not be difficult.
I wish for the calm and prudence of the donkeys ...
The donkey holds up a mirror to us humans: look, this is who you are. If you allow it, the donkey can be the teacher of man. How does he behave in difficult situations? He stops, weighs, goes away and sometimes he hides. He does not run blindly, he is a clever observer and philosopher.
Let's wish Vroni a long, happy life and lots of petting. Learn from the donkey ears how the animals enjoy it when the ears are stroked on the outside and inside. When the neck becomes longer and longer, and the ears lay back, the eyes close, and the lower lip is loose, then you have managed to turn the donkey into a bon vivant and her friend.
