Maine Coon Björn
ignored the predictions of veterinarians
Björn is a pretty silver-gray Maine-Coon cat. After a fall from a couch in the apartment of her previous owners, she had broken her spine. Due to the fall there were many more injuries and health damages and Björn's keeping became very costly.
The family had a small baby to take care of and asked the animal emergency center of Gut Aiderbichl to help and take in their Björn.
"Could you imagine recording Björn...?"
They had lovingly mounted various lying surfaces on the walls of the apartment for Björn. One day Björn fell from one of the lying surfaces, the fall was too "short", Björn could not turn and broke his spine.
Three veterinarians were consulted. The prognoses were not the best. Björn had nevertheless learned to walk again, to jump on the couch, she climbed the scratching post and also used her litter box again.
The problem that had remained was a bladder weakness due to injured nerve cords. She drew a urine road through the apartment. Due to the accident, however, Björn can no longer clean herself well and her soiling of the anus became more and more annoying.
So the family had a baby, a cat with hygiene problems, an apartment that needed more cleaning than before Björn's accident. Euthanizing was not an option, Gut Aiderbichl seemed to be the best idea.
The "rotation" of the cat
If the cat falls from a height, it turns during the fall and comes down on its four paws. However, if the time from the beginning of the fall until it hits the ground is too short, the cat will not have time to turn and will injure itself.
So Björn had broken his spine and the suffering began. It is known that cats have great healing powers. Björn can jump and make faxes again today. She healed herself with purring. The purring of a cat generates its own frequency, which ensures that broken bones and other injuries or diseases can heal again quickly.
Björn's new family
Björn has found a loving foster home "for life", and has some conspecifics there to cuddle and play with.
Her fur has grown nicely again, Björn can jump without much problems, sharpen her claws at the scratching post, play with the other cats or just cuddle on the couch.
She is "clean" again - it just took a little time for her mobility to improve enough to groom herself like a healthy cat.
An operation on his hip is still pending, but the vet is in good spirits that everything will go well and Björn will be able to live a trouble-free cat life.
Life without a cat is possible, but pointless.
