Cow Josefa

ran away from the butcher...

There are things between heaven and earth that come to make people amazed again and again. Jule and Frieda, two cows from a burned-down barn, were taken in by Gut Aiderbichl and now live at the Aiderbichl's Moosfeld Farm.
The owner is a farmer and a butcher and wanted to transport Josefa to the slaughterhouse when she decided to run away.

Well, what was that?

The day after the stable fire, when Jule and Frieda were loaded onto the Aiderbichler transporter, a cow - Josefa - came running along the road. Josefa was unstoppable and our colleagues, who were on their way to the car, stopped in amazement and took a look at the spectacle. Christian Kögl, the administrator of the Moosfeldhof, called the farmer in the evening to check on the cow that had escaped. Christian could not get the escaped Josefa out of his head. Apparently, however, Josefa had found her way back to the farm. The cow should not be slaughtered and Christian discussed it with the farmer. The very next day, the excited cow was brought to the Moosfeldhof.

What a "stupid" cow

Cows are intelligent and curious animals. In the cattle herd they live as friends and form binding friendships. Of course, there is a strict hierarchy in the herds. It's a bit like humans: some are shy, others are bolder and adventurous. Each cow has its role.
Perhaps Josefa sensed that her life was about to end at the slaughterhouse? Perhaps she simply wanted to accompany her friends Frieda and Jule?
There are always interesting ways in the lives of people and animals. Possibly, it just had to be that Josefa ran off, and that our employees became aware of her?

Lucky coincidences in the life of animals

Christian Kögl is a passionate cattle rescuer. Eight years ago, he unchained a young bull. This bull is now nine years old. He is a symbolic animal against tethering. Bandit has conquered the hearts of millions of people. The unchaining and the subsequent dance of joy of Bandit is depicted in a film on YouTube. Christian Kögl, who at the time had to pick the cows from the stable, heard the young, loudly mooing bull who was about to learn what it means to be tethered. The chain around his neck was long 40 cm. Bandit went on its knees - maybe he wanted to signal "Get me out of here!". The dance of joy after the liberation moved to tears and amazed especially those people who think that cattle are stupid and emotionless. Josefa is also known because she draws attention to herself. She now lives at the Moosfeldhof and one of her special friends is Christian Kögl.

Animals are capable of joy, sorrow and gratitude. How can we act other than to protect them?
