Liesl the dog at Gut Aiderbichl Iffeldorf
A faithful companion until the end
Dogs are loyal friends. They donor comfort in lonely hours, listen patiently and understand us without words. But what happens when the dog outlives its loved one?
This is what happened to our dog Lissy.
A sad farewell and an uncertain future
Lissy’s master passed away, leaving the dog with a grieving family who were unable to take her in. The deceased’s children were travelling a lot for work – too much to ensure Lissy’s long-term well-being. So what to do with an animal that had faithfully accompanied its owner for so many years? Lissy is already 16 years old, slightly incontinent and dependent on heart medication. Finding a new family is therefore almost impossible.

Why prevention is so important
Whoever owns an animal takes responsibility for a living creature in need of protection. That’s why care is essential. In the best case scenario, care can be organised in the personal environment. However, if no one else can help, the provision for pets from Gut Aiderbichl offers a safe alternative. Especially in old age, you should consciously ask yourself: What will happen to my pet if I can no longer look after it? Many older people want a pet, but hesitate to do so because they are worried that they might be left alone after their death. This is exactly where the provision for pets comes in: Gut Aiderbichl guarantees that animals are lovingly cared for at one of the Gut Aiderbichl farms until their natural end of life – according to the wishes of their owner. If the worst comes to the worst, the animal is picked up within 24 hours. Whether young or old, healthy or with disabilities – every animal with a precautionary measure is taken in and cared for by experienced animal carers as if it were their own.
A happy ending for Lissy
Lissy now lives at Gut Aiderbichl Iffeldorf – her new forever home. Lissy is an incredibly sweet dog. When she is happy, she still makes little “leaps in the air” – almost as if she were a young dog again. After all these faithful years at her owner’s side, she has more than earned an evening of life full of love and security.
