Loving animals also means taking precautions

The story of Pinchi the dog and Buddy the cat

Animals enrich our lives in many different ways. They donor comfort, listen to us, keep us company and give us joy. A close bond between humans and animals has a positive effect on the mind and body – as the owner of Buddy the cat (8 years old) and Pinchi the dog (11 years old) told us.

Responsibility for two souls in need of protection

After several strokes of fate, the lady from Hesse found herself without a family. But thanks to her two animal companions, she was never lonely and alone. Together they formed a harmonious trio. However, the concerned animal lover knew that this happiness would not last forever. A serious illness gradually robbed her of her sight. She could not let go of the agonising question: “Who would look after her beloved animals if she could no longer do so herself?” The responsibility for the two vulnerable souls lay solely on her shoulders

In September 2023, the pet owner therefore contacted the Gut Aiderbichl Foundation’s provision for pets department. After sensitive advice from our experts, her pets Buddy and Pinchi were covered by the provision for pets . This gave her peace of mind, as her faithful companions have a loving home and professional care in the event of an emergency.

Buddy the cat and Pinchi the dog became Aiderbichlers

Did she suspect her fate? Because after a few months, her health deteriorated rapidly. In April 2024, Buddy and Pinchi were collected from their home by our experienced animal carer and finally became Aiderbichlers. Our staff were already very familiar with their habits and needs, so the separation from their owner went smoothly. Our long-standing carers look after each animal as if it were their own – and Pinchi and Buddy are no exception.

Buddy and Pinchi are very cuddly and trusting creatures. Both have found new families and mates in the Gut Aiderbichl Henndorf dog and cat group. Pinchi in particular enjoys spending time with his friend, Coco the dog. He also comes from a provision for pets. I wonder if their common destiny is such a strong bond?

Brown tabby Buddy has settled in wonderfully with the group of cats at Gut Aiderbichl Henndorf. He can often be found on the big sofa, where he knows exactly where our sponsors and visitors like to sit and give him lots of cuddles!

The love for our animals lives on forever

Buddy and Pinchi are happy and well: they have found a safe and loving home at Gut Aiderbichl. Because even if we as animal owners can no longer be by their side – the love for our animals lives on forever!
