Maxi and Zitza
are now cuddling in the cat living room at Gut Aiderbichl Henndorf
From the perspective of an Aiderbichler
(written by Gisela Pschenitschnig)
Yesterday was Love Your Pet Day and on this day, millions of people spoil their pets even more than they already do.
The catsgirls Maxi and Zitzalived for years with a very animal-loving lady, who acted responsibly when she took out pet insurance for her two corded cats.
"We are responsible for the animals until the last day ..."
… so during my guided tours at the animal visitor centre of Gut Aiderbichl Henndorfin an empathetic way to make people think.
Every animal-loving person has respect for their fellow creatures: cats, dogs, etc., and every animal-loving person appreciates the love and affection they receive from their pet.
We want to live with animals because they enrich our lives, because they love us unconditionally and only wantto do one thing: to be therefor their humanandto cuddle with them. Of course, you also have work to do with the animals. You have to clean the cat’s crate, walk the dog, feed it properly, groom itand take on a lot of responsibility. The latterwe have for our animals until the daytheir candle of life goes out.
People who are older, fall ill, become weaker – for them, cats and dogs are sometimes the ones who are supposed to listen to them and care for them. It is important to act when all the strength for oneself diminishes, and thus the care and nurturing of one’s pet is no longer possible due to the circumstances.
Maxi and Zitza's owner had to move into a retirement home
A few weeks ago we took the purring beauties Maxi and Zitza in Henndorf. Both are over 10 years old and were probably a little sceptical at first.
All the cats in the cat living room showed curious behaviour and wanted to know who wasmoving in.At the moment, Maxi and Zitza still livein a cosy, smaller room, smaller room together with Linus,Abigeiland Lonely.
The cats’ body language is mysterious and interesting. After a few days, the animal keepers got the impression that the two new residentswere settling inwell. They accepted the offers of friendship from their conspecifics, sometimes lying down next to one or other “strange” cat, withdrawing or being in the middle, and not just being there..
Bailey and Saphira also help Maxi and Zitza with the familiarisation phase
Baileys and Saphira’s start in life has shaped themvery much: both had been abandoned at a young age, and have been living in the cosy cat living room for several years. They are grateful to have been found and given a forever home at Gut Aiderbichl. The two of them sit outside the door to theroom more and more often, where Maxi and Zitza currently reside. When the keepers open the door, Bailey and Saphiraare right there to purr “hello”.
The former owner of Maxi and Zitzahas done well and very responsibly, providing for the twothrough a provision for pets. The three of them can lead a stress-free life: the pet-loving lady in the retirement home and Maxi and Zitzain the cosy cat living room with a run in the cat enclosure. In a few weeks’ time Maxi and will Zitza are sure to enjoy the sun in the grass or under the bushes in the enclosure.
A heartfelt thank you to all people who love their animals and, even if they can no longer manage it themselves, want them to be well looked after. Animal insurance is the safe way to care for your pet. Sincerely, Your Gisela.
Love is not what you expect to receive, but what you are prepared to give.
