Pig Roxi
a mini pig, has moved into the pig palace
A barn where numerous animals had been living unfortunately had to be evacuated. The owner was able to find a new home for all the animals, but not for Roxi the pig.
Dieter Ehrengruber quickly agreed to the recording and a huge problem was solved. In the large straw beds of our pig palace in Henndorf, there will always be room for pigs looking for a new forever home.
Roxi, the little wild one
Roxi is about five years old and has grey skin. She loves children and women. However, she is not very fond of men.
Roxi seems to be a cheerful little creature. She is strong-willed, doesn’t put up with things easily and knows exactly what she wants and what she doesn’t want. Roxi hasn’t been in the pig palace for very long, but somehow you get the impression that she’s the boss alongside pig Frieda. Roxi wouldn’t be satisfied with being the boss’s assistant.
“Oink, oink, there really are a lot of pigs here. Big ones, small ones, really fat ones and rather slim ones. Light-coloured and dark-coloured pigs. Interesting. One that I really like is Clemens. A pot-bellied pig with a sloping cervical spine. Whatever that is. I was told during a guided tour that Clemens has a crooked cervical spine. Interesting. Well, now I’ll take a look further …”.
Clemens is a pot-bellied pig anyway, and he has decided to avoid Roxi even more. He doesn’t want any problems. Pigs have strict hierarchies that must be adhered to so that there are no arguments in and around the pig palace.
“Arguing or wanting to be the strongest has never interested me. I’d rather go round the bend and lie down in the sun somewhere to relax. I like it quiet and cosy. Roxi, yes, I’ve probably noticed that she often tails behind me. She should learn to be a bit calmer and less busy, then she can lie down next to me in the thick straw bed. She still has a bit to learn, Roxi. But she’s a very sweet mini pig!”.
“I like Roxi too. Sshe’s a lot smaller than me, but I like her. I’ve already whispered to her where to find a treat here and there: it’s best to walk back and forth in front of the stable by the animal buffet, where the feed room is, until a keeper comes. They already know me and know what I would like. Roxi really likes that …”. Bernadette, a grey-pink noble pig, is delighted with her new friend.
Pigs have many similarities with humans
Whether large or small pigs – they are as intelligent as apes and humans themselves. Each pig has its own character, preferences and habits. They are personalities and have feelings such as fear and joy.
Pigs are willing to learn and they have perseverance in everything they do.
Wish the lively Roxi a long, healthy life among all her friends in the pig palace. If you are looking for her, just open your ears. The loudest one is our Roxi.
