Romania puppies
New protégés at Gut Aiderbichl
Welcome Dorina and her puppies!
At Gut Aiderbichl, there is always exciting news from the animal placement centre! Dorina and her puppies are already on their way to their new, better lives. Some of the little puppies have already found their new families, and we are delighted that they are now in safe and loving hands.
We still remember the moment when we met the mum dog and her puppies. The words of the person who just wanted to get rid of the dogs still echo in our heads: “Are you going to take the puppies or not? Otherwise I’ll just abandon them somewhere”. A threat that is unfortunately made far too often and unfortunately often carried out.
Dorina and her puppies Dorian, D’Artagnan, Diamond, Davida and Dixy found refuge with animal carer Nicky in Romania a few months ago, where they were allowed to spend the winter well looked after. The time will finally come at the end of February:
The little family will be making their way to Austria and Germany to start their new life. The dog care team is delighted that some dogs from Romania will be able to move into their new homes again. “It is always a special task to help animals that have had a difficult past. I hope that we will soon find loving families for the remaining puppies too,” says Sabine Mosboeckhofer, team leader at Gut Aiderbichl Henndorf.
But the plight of the dogs in Romania doesn’t end there. Every day, new dogs arrive at the shelter in search of a better life. It is particularly difficult for the larger dogs or those that have been at the shelter for a long time. These dogs have a particularly hard time finding a home.
One example is Belinda – an incredibly sweet dog who loves people and just wants to please. But there is one condition for Belinda: she wants to live as an only dog.</span
Another dog looking for a home is the beautiful Rex. He is a loyal companion who is not always compatible with male dogs, but has a heart of gold.
Then there’s Wania, who must have lived with a family before she was abandoned outside the shelter. We still remember the day Wania came to us. Her owners simply threw her out of the car and drove off. The loyal dog ran after them barking, not understanding what had happened. Wania is a self-confident dog who is looking for an active home with sporty people.</span
Wilma, another female dog, was found locked up in a house. We don’t know how long she was there, but it must have been months. Wilma is a wonderful dog who deserves to finally have the life she deserves.
