Hangover
Cashew

From the perspective of an Aiderbichler

(written by Gisela Pschenitschnig)

Cat Cashew is about two years old. One day, the staff at Gut Aiderbichl Iffeldorf discovered a small cat on the farm. One thing was clear – Cashew didn’t come from the cat’s living room.Nobody thought anything bad, everyone did their job. Cashew was always to be found in the yard over the next few days.

Where did cashew come from? Abandoned? Run into?

Cashew gave no sign that he wanted to leave the farm again. Somehow his journey had come to an end here. He seemed to like it very much among all the donkeys, sheep, goats etc.Cashew finds a place to sleep wherever he likes. There is hay and straw everywhere for him to cuddle. Sometimes Cashew sleeps in the cowshed, then with the sheep and goats, with the donkeys, with the pigs – he has plenty to choose from.

Cashew is a heartbreaker

and wraps all humans around his paws

Whether male or female animal carer – Cashew has them all wrapped around his little paws. He can find breakfast anywhere, a bite to eat at lunchtime and Cashew doesn’t have to go to the hay hungry in the evening either.

He lets visitors stroke him and can’t get enough cuddles. If he could talk, perhaps he would tell us a special story? In any case, Cashew is a very even-tempered, lovable cat who loves people and obviously has no intention of leaving his new environment.

“Why should I? Gosh, there’s everything a cat could wish for here. Good food, lots of animals, heaps of hay and straw where I can hide at night.
Not to forget, there are lots of mice here that are sometimes too slow and then, well – I don’t want to talk about that now. I live at Gut Aiderbichl, where animals live until the end of their lives.”

When it was decided to have Cashew as a free-range dog at the farm, he was of course neutered. He probably didn’t like that so much.

“There you go. Sorry about that. That wasn’t really funny. But, it all ended well. I overheard a conversation in which it was said that around 80,000 cats are born after eight years from a cat family where the female kittens are not neutered. Erstaunlich.“

A dozing cat is the image of perfect bliss.

Cashew was suddenly just there, and we wish, that he will continue to welcome visitors to the courtyard at Aiderbichlin Iffeldorf with its elegance and its charm.
