In many cases, ponies are animals with an "expiry date". They are bred and then delight children for many years. But the ponies usually experience a sad fate when their young owners turn away from them as they grow older. If no new home can be found for the former family member, the final stop is usually the butcher. Amelie and her foal Mariechen, who was only 8 days old at the time, were spared this fate. An animal lover became aware of them and contacted us. Amelie - together with Mariechen - is now allowed to stay with us until the natural end of her life and never has to fear being in danger again.
