When a social worker from an authority in Vienna approached us and asked for help, we could not have guessed what was in store for us. Originally, we were asked to take in about 80 budgerigars and cockatiels. A proud number of animals, but still seemed quite harmless. The Gut Aiderbichl team set off and on site they realized the extent of the need. The owner was completely overwhelmed with the care of her animals and the mentioned 80 became in the end 323 animals, which we could rescue from the apartment - animal welfare is also human welfare.
