Unfortunately, emergencies like Cavalor's reach us every day. His owners had a small horse breeding as a sideline. They never made the claim that their charges would find good places. If no buyers could be found, they were slaughtered. The animals were kept accordingly. An animal lover contacted us and implored us to take Cavalor in. Shortly before the day of his death, he was accepted. Unfortunately, our rescues are "only" symbolic, because every year more than 250,000 horses are brought to Italy on torturous death transports. Most of them are born for slaughter.
