Clara belongs to the so-called Zackel sheep, which are considered very robust and hardy. They originate from the Hungarian Pustza and have been considered endangered since 1903. With a lot of effort and ingenuity, this wonderful breed could be saved into modern times, but the danger is not over yet. In our fast-moving times, Zackel sheep have almost no place. Gery Keszler, the founder and long-time organizer of the Life Ball, recognized the plight of these animals and wanted to help. On his property lives a small herd around which he cares lovingly. But when this became too large, he asked Gut Aiderbichl for help. So Claria became part of our family and gave life to little Zafira at Gut Aiderbichl.
