When we found Conny, her life was in danger. After 14 days at an agricultural exhibition in the capital of Bavaria, she and her fellow animals were to be slaughtered. During this time, they had to advertise a stable that was far from species-appropriate husbandry for us. The plastic slatted floor was coloured green and kept meticulously clean. There was no straw at all for the animals, which "lived" close to each other. Unfortunately, the official requirements and regulations, such as the 30-day quarantine, are so strict that it is almost impossible for breeders and animal owners to integrate the animals into a farm. Some people became aware of this and wanted to prevent the impending slaughter. They approached Michael Aufhauser, who immediately agreed to take in all the exhibition animals.
