We are glad that we do not encounter these scenarios too often, but, when they do, it shocks us every time. We were asked to help by a veterinary office. The sight was frightening: 19 nearly starved horses, without bedding and feed under desolate housing conditions. Among them was Darileen. The Gut Aiderbichl team and managing director Dieter Ehrengruber could not look away, because some of them were already facing their trip to the slaughterhouse. One was already in such a desolate condition that it died during the first night. But now we have to dedicate all our love, care and strength to the other 18 horses.
