"323 birds rescued from messie apartment," was a headline in an Austrian daily newspaper in 2017. Behind that headline was also so much grief. The woman loved her animals more than anything and tried to take care of them as best as she could. But she suffered a lot of strokes of fate in the last few years and so lost track at some point. A social worker of a Viennese authority turned to us and asked for help. From the 80 parakeets mentioned at the beginning, 323 budgerigars and cockatiels became part of our family on that day.
