Every day we receive many requests for help regarding animals in need. We also received a call from a woman who reported six pot-bellied pigs that were to be slaughtered. The owner couple had separated and the house was now to be sold. Also the date for the slaughter of the pot-bellied pigs was already fixed. However, the animal lover did not want to allow this and took the pigs in for the time being. However, it is almost impossible to place adult pot-bellied pigs, as they have long since lost the "sweet factor". She herself could not keep the animals either due to lack of space, and the despair was great. So the animal lover turned to us and asked to take in the six little pigs. She sent us a driver who brought us the frightened and neglected animals. Our task now was and is to gain the pigs' trust, to nurse them back to health and to give them a good and species-appropriate life.
